Andres Sagredos has been fronting rock-and-roll bands since he was a wee lad. He first picked up the guitar at age 10 and began performing in Bay Area bars and clubs in 2011. Currently residing in Oakland, CA, he has been an active part of the Bay Area music scene as a performer, composer, and music educator.

 

As a singer/guitarist, Sagredos seamlessly weaves together genres like rock and roll, soul, blues, funk, Latin, and more—creating sounds that are both contemporary and timeless. A natural showman, Sagredos throws himself completely into his stage performances, delivering impactful shows with a healthy dose of soul.

 

Whether packing gritty Oakland punk dives with heavy psych rock band The Cat House, or dance floors with funk band AC & the Heatwave, or captivating winery and clubgoers as a solo act, Sagredos tailors every performance to its setting. His solo sets—crafted for intimate venues like wineries and cocktail bars—are smooth yet soulful, blending rhythmic grooves with a laid-back charm.

 

As a composer, he is equally comfortable writing in rock styles as he is composing for orchestras, jazz bands, world music ensembles, and everything in between. A first-generation American born to Peruvian and Greek parents, Sagredos is an avid traveler who has always connected with music from around the world. This influence makes frequent subtle (and sometimes less subtle) appearances in his work.

 

Though much of his musical background comes from the proverbial streets, his academic training includes a Bachelor of Music in Composition from SFSU, which led to unforgettable gigs with the SFSU Afro-Cuban Ensemble, like the vibrant San Francisco Carnival Parade, or packing the Chapel for a night of salsa dancing and live music. Since 2016, he has served as the music director, arranger, and conductor for the annual Crabaret fundraiser at Ascension Greek Orthodox Church.

 

Music is more than just entertainment for Sagredos; it's a celebration and a connection. His performances are vibrant, engaging, and deeply authentic, inviting listeners to let loose or simply savor the moment.
